성기선 교수가 피스빌딩을 방문하여 교육 정책에 대한 간담회💬를 진행했습니다.
지난 11월 17일, 성기선 교수(가톨릭대학교, 2022 경기교육감 진보단일후보)가 KOPI 회복적정의교육원·KARJ 한국회복적정의협회의 실무진과 함께 2시간 넘는 이야기 시간을 가졌습니다.
주요 내용은 학교의 사법화 문제와 교육공동체의 갈등문제를 교육적으로 해결하기 위한 회복적 생활교육의 필요성이었습니다.
특히 현재 교육계에 회복적 정의 패러다임이 아닌 솔루션과 프로그램 중심으로 확산되어온 회복적 생활교육의 한계점을 어떻게 극복할지, 그리고 대화모임(조정)을 통한 교육적 갈등전환이 가능케 하기 위한 실천 방안에 대해 격이 없는 대화를 나누었습니다.
피스빌딩 스텝들과 함께 이어진 대화를 통하여 같은 방향성에 대한 공감이 이루어졌습니다. 경기도가 한국 전체 교육계의 1/4을 차지하고 있는 만큼 어려워지고 있는 학교의 갈등과 분쟁문제를 함께 고민하고 해결책을 만들어 가는데 각자의 역할을 감당하고자 하는 시간이었습니다. 먼 길 찾아와주신 성기선 교수님 일행에 감사를 전합니다.

[Peace Building Visit & Policy Discussion💬] Professor Sung Ki-sun visited the Peace Building and held a discussion on education policy.
On November 17th, Professor Sung Ki-sun (Catholic University of Korea, 2022 Gyeonggi Province Superintendent of Education, Unified Progressive Candidate) held a two-hour discussion with staff from the KOPI and the KARJ.
The main topic was the need for restorative life education to address the judicialization of schools and conflicts within the educational community through educational channels.
In particular, the discussion focused on how to overcome the limitations of restorative life education, which has been spreading in the education sector primarily around solutions and programs rather than a restorative justice paradigm, and on practical measures to facilitate educational conflict transformation through dialogue (mediation).
Through subsequent discussions with Peace Building staff, a shared understanding of the direction was achieved. As Gyeonggi Province accounts for a quarter of Korea's entire education system, this was a time for each of us to play our part in addressing the growing challenges of conflict and disputes in schools and finding solutions.
